Q)  Does Policy Enterprise integrate with third party services? 
A)  Yes.  Our policy solution can integrate with any third-party application.  Information such as motor vehicle reports, loss history reports and credit bureau reports can be ordered either at the point of sale or during back-office processing.  No matter where ordering takes place, the returned information is populated into the application for rating and risk evaluation. 

Q)  Policy Enterprise comes with an integrated rating engine, what sort of rating framework is in place?
A)  We understand the importance in streamlining insurance carrier rating processes and believe in putting the job of creating new rate structures and modifications into the capable hands of those making actual pricing decisions. CodeObjects offers an insurance rating solution that simplifies the product development phase by allowing version controlled rating frameworks to be built from Microsoft Excel spreadsheet applications.  Our system architecture also empowers pricing analysts to modify or implement new products in real-time without code changes or programming packages.

Q)  Does Policy Enterprise support back-office policy exception processing? 
A)  Yes.  Within our externalized rules engine are both referral rules and authorization rules.  Policy referrals get generated once the policy is bound whereas policy authorizations are sent to underwriting prior to the policy becoming active.  Either way, referrals and authorizations are seen by our system as work items which can be routed via our assignment engine based upon predefined security settings.

Q)  Does Policy Enterprise support state specific eligibility rules?
A)   Yes.  PolicyEnterprise provides the flexibility for specific eligibility rules to be asked within a particular workflow based on rating state, writing company, product, and policy form type.

Q)  When performing rules maintenance or rating changes are complex implementation packages needed?
A)  No.  Both our rules engine and rating are externalized so they are free from runtime code.  This provides the flexibility to allow for hot deployment and avoid complex implementation packages.

Q)  If we want to integrate with our existing systems such as Billing or Claims is this possible?
A)  Yes.  Our policy administration solution is a modular component that can work with billing systems as well as claims systems and/or with other external systems. The policy module exposes its APIs using standard web services.

Q)  Policy Enterprise comes equipped with a complete set of screens and predefined business rules to run “out of the box,” can company specific customization occur?
A)  Yes.  Insurance carriers have many company specific rules and product definitions that make them unique and this is why we offer the most flexible platform and solutions.  The system can be altered to meet the needs of how you run your business, which includes your data model, screens, workflow, product definitions and business rules.  Leveraging our CodeObjects Rapid Application Development (CORAD) studio configurations can be done in weeks instead of months on years.

Technology & Platform

Q) Are you SOA compliant? 
A) Our platform and applications are built from ground up to be service oriented. We have a plug and play architecture that will enable you to replace any of the out of the box services with your custom or 3rd party services. We follow standards like Web Services and SCA (Service Component Architecture).

Q) Which Application Servers do you run on? 
A)  Our applications are currently deployable on any standard J2EE application server like IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic, JBOSS & Tomcat. In the future releases we plan to support .NET application server.

Q) Which OS platforms does your server run on? 
A) We run on all Server OS platforms that the above mentioned application servers support like Windows, UNIX & Linux. With IBM WebSphere we also run on z/OS which is IBM’s Mainframe Operating System.

Q) Can you run on my existing data schema? 
A) Our Model Driven approach allows you to model data objects over your existing schema using our RAD studio. These data objects can be used in conjunction with the out of the box schema and data objects to create integrated solutions.

Q) What kind of client technologies do you support?
A) We support multiple client technologies (like Rich, Web & Mobile) and believe in choosing the client platform appropriate to the application functionality. We are one of the first vendors to support Microsoft’s Next generation UI platform called WPF. WPF combines the convenience of zero installation, XML based layout & rich client features. We support a variety of web client frameworks like JSF, Struts, ASP.Net and Portal Servers.

Q) How do you build and customize applications on CodeObjects Platform? 
A) CodeObjects platform through our RAD studio supports a model driven methodology, using which application developers can easily model new applications or extend pre built solutions, independent of runtime technology.  Our transformation engines can translate the model to a run time implementation of choice. Q) What is CodeObjects RAD Studio?
A) Our (R)apid (A)pplication (D)evelopment studio is a set of Eclipse plug-ins that are deployable on any Eclipse based IDE that allows application development & customization using our model driven methodology. For more details on this please refer to our solution sheets and white papers.

Q) How can you automate our business processes? 
A) CodeObjects supports WS-BPEL standard for orchestrating services to automate Business Processes. Once you model a Business Process in our RAD studio any WS-BPEL compliant engine can be used to execute the process. We certify WS-BPEL compliant engines from Active Endpoints, IBM, JBOSS & BEA with our platform.

Q) How can I upgrade the customized solutions to future releases of CodeObjects? 
A) Since our Applications are defined through models in our RAD studio, CodeObjects will provide utilities with every new release that will upgrade your applications, including your customizations.

Q) We have worldwide operations. Can we use CodeObjects?
A) CodeObjects platform supports internationalization. Our RAD studio can generate localized versions of Application based on a single application model.
